Message from the Principal

Welcome to St Mary’s Primary School, Maryborough.

At St Mary’s, we are proud to be a vibrant Catholic learning community where faith, learning and wellbeing are at the heart of everything we do. Guided by the Gospel values, we work in partnership with families to nurture each child as a unique and valued individual, supporting them to grow academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.

In 2026 our Explicit Improvement Agenda focuses on creating a community of writers, strengthening student engagement, and enhancing student wellbeing. We believe that strong literacy skills empower students to express their ideas, find their voice and engage confidently with the world around them. Through high-quality teaching and intentional learning practices, we support every student to develop a love of learning and a sense of belonging.

Student voice and leadership are central to our work. We strive to create learning environments where students feel safe, supported and challenged, and where their individual needs are recognised and valued. By prioritising wellbeing, we ensure our students are equipped to thrive both at school and beyond.

St Mary’s is a community grounded in our core values of Service, Courage and Justice. These values guide our daily interactions and inspire us to live out our faith through action - serving others with compassion, acting with integrity and courage, and working towards a more just and inclusive world.

Our Mission calls us to:

  • Seek to understand and support the needs of our community
  • Make a difference while staying true to our beliefs
  • Shape a more just and compassionate community

Together, we aim to grow the whole person—mind, heart and spirit—so that every child is supported to reach their full potential.

I warmly invite you to become part of our St Mary’s community and to share in our commitment to faith, learning and service.

Michelle Heather
